Flesh and Scales Pt. 1

It's 6:00 PM in a small community. We see a young girl (Marie) is in the den, drawing a picture of a killer crocodile. She's wearing a white t-shirt and kakis. She finishes drawing the picture after a while.

Marie: Finally. I'd say this is my best picture so far.

Marie puts the picture away and she pours herself a glass of Coca-Cola and has a sip of it. Upon drinking it, Marie begins to feel hot. She goes outside and she sits in the shade while drinking the rest of her soda, but the heat dowsn't wear off. Unknown to her, her blue eyes begin to overtake the white areas of her eyes and her pupils become reptillian like. Marie's body begins to violently ache as she falls to the ground and rolls while groaning. Her body becomes progressively, causing her clothes to split and tall to the ground. She remains on all fours to prevent any bystanders from seeing her sensitive parts. as her body grows, her hands and feet gain long black claws. Four bumps form on each side of her head and black horns emerge from them. Spikes rapidly shoot our of her spine and litter the middle of her back. A tail painfully emerges from just above her butt. Her jaw painfully stretches out and widens as she develops sharper teeth. Finally, her skin is replaced with red scales, which rapidly cover her body. The newly changed Marie rests after experiencing such a painful transformation.

Later, she wakes up and she looks at her changed body. Frightened, she rushes inside, barely fitting through the door, and she shockingly looks at herself. She runs out and she eventually walks at a steady pace upon seeing that she's alone. As she walks, she hears a dog barking at her. She approaches the dog and she sniffs it. Her stomach begins to growl, but she ultimately turns away, refusing to view a it as food. As she walks, she feels someone throwing a rock on her. She turns around and she sees a creature that resembles Marie, albeit with black scales. She hisses at the new creature and she proceeds to tackle it. The other creature attempts to throw a boulder at Marie, but she swipes it with her tail. She knocks the creature into the tree and she walks into the woods, feeling a great sense of accomplishment.

As she wanders through the woods, she thinks about her transformation. She fears that she may be stuck like this forever. Her attention is soon drawn to a young man who's just up ahead. He's wearing a green t-shirt and black shorts with brown flip-flops. He sees the creature walking towards him.

???: Please don't hurt me.

Marie remains still and she shakes her head, hoping that he'll understand. He pats her head and she growls comfortably.

Peter: My name's Peter. What's yours?

Marie: Marie. *Marie is surprised over what she said. She believed that she lost the ability to talk.*

Peter: I thought thet you'd attack me. I'm surprised really...

Marie: I'm not supposed to be a beast you know...

Peter: I see. What caused this?

Marie: I don't knoe. I was drawing a picture, I drank some Coke, then I became... this.

Peter: We can go back to your place and we can try to find the cause for this.

Marie nods and she turns around. She gestures Peter to hop on her back. She takes him to the exact spot where she changed.

Peter: So, I get you were drawing and you had some Coke prior to changing. Do you think it was the Coke?

Marie: I highly doubt it was that.

Peter: Well, let's find out for ourselves. *Sees a squirrel* Get that squirrel. I'll get the Coke.

Marie grabs the squirrel as Peter rushes out of the house with a bottle of the Coke. He pours it on the squirrel and after a minute, it exhibits the same changes as Marie.

Marie: Holy shit, you're right.

Peter: I'm as surprised as you. Maybe there's a way to fix you. I'm gonna look up a scientist who can help us.

Marie noda in agreement, however, she begins to feel strange. Her eyes return to normal and she feels herself shrinking. She rushes to her pool and she jumps in. Peter attempts to find her but he doesn't see her in there. He sees some nearby bushes are rustling and he approaches them.

Marie *muttering embarrassingly*: Don't come closer.

Peter can partially see Marie's face behind the bushes. He can see her blushing in embarrasment.

Marie: You wouldn't happen to have a towel or something... would you? *Peter goes and gets her a towel. She snatches the towel and she wraps it around her naked body. She shivers* Didn't think that I'd return to normal.

Peter: Yeah, thank God you did.

Marie looks around to see if anyone saw her. She sees no one and she and Peter enter her house. She enters her bathroom and she changes into a black t-shirt and jeans. She enters the livingroom where Peter is sitting and she sits next to him. She sighs.

Peter: I'm not bothering you, am I?

Marie*quickly looking at him*: No, no, not at all. It's actually nice to have some company.

Peter and Marie both smile over what is said. Marie eventually delivers a yawn.

Peter: Sleepy?

Marie: Yeah.

Peter: Should I go now?

Marie: "Don't bother, I'll be in my room. But you can stay if you want."

Peter nods

Peter: Well, good night.

Marie: You too. The blankets are on the right of the couch. Help yourself. *she heads up to her room*

Peter picks a blaket and he lays on the couch while covering himself with the blanket. He falls asleep soon after. We see Marie is about to go to sleep. Before she shuts off the light, she thinks about her new friend and how he steyed with her, in spite of what she went through. She hopes that he'll still be present in the morning. She shuts off the light and she gets some sleep.
